I have been a member of Empowered Body since January. When I started I was completely new to it all, the training and the nutrition. Jen made sure I didn’t feel overwhelmed and helped me start off with small manageable changes. She worked closely with me to make sure I understood the nutrition principles that were an essential part of my goals. She challenged me in class while also being understanding of my current fitness level. As I continued with Jen and improved my nutrition and training she started challenging me in new ways. Instead of simple tasks like cleaning out my fridge and getting my pantry ready she pushed me to track my macros and try my best to hit them every day. She made the classes more and more challenging for me when she saw that I could handle it. She works hard to find new ways to challenge me every day. I think back to how I used to feel “fine” every day and when I compare that to how I feel now it’s crazy to see the difference. I still wake up in the morning and can’t believe that this is my life now. It was so surprising to me to see all the differences that leading a healthy life brought. I wake up energized and happy and ready to tackle anything life throws at me.

The empowerment and positivity that taking care of my health has brought to my life is overwhelming and I have Jen to thank for that. I now enjoy doing active things, I love that I can wake up early with my girlfriends and go for a run or go for a long walk on the beach without getting tired or feeling miserable just waiting for it to be over. I took my body and health for granted. I guess I didn’t realize how important it was until I felt the results of living a healthy life. I listened to people preach about it all the time and I always just poked fun at them but then I felt what they were always talking about and it was life changing. There were always things in my life I thought I couldn’t do so I just accepted that and moved on. I would never be able to run a 5k or hike a mountain or wear a bikini. Sometimes you just need someone to remind you that you CAN do it. Jen reminds me of that every day. She reminds me if you work hard and commit you can do anything you want and there is no goal that is too big to achieve.

Since joining Empowered Body I have lost 48 pounds but more importantly I have gained the skills, the confidence and the support to live a healthy, balanced, empowered life and I am forever thankful for that! You start small with a few workout classes a week then you start eating healthy and working towards a balance life and all of this positive energy just starts spilling over into every aspect of your life. I have so many friends that have reached out and asked “how can I do what you do?” I always tell them to start with a small change and join Empowered Body!!
